Reblog: Condos tougher than feds on licensed grow ops

Reading through the feeds this morning, I came across this interesting piece, featured on SLAW as part of their weekly roundup. It deals with the kinds of recourse that condo corporations have should they discover that one of their tenants or owners has a grow op in his or her unit. The police can’t do much, should it turn out that the grow op has one of the 21K licenses issued in Canada to grow medical marijuana. But, there are possible recourses if the existence of that grow op causes damage to the unit, the common elements or to neighbours’ units.
